This ViewHD HDMI extractor has one HDMI input, one HDMI output, one SPDIF output and RCA L / R stereo audio output.

This product is solid and durable with full metal jacket construction; it has the best in category Quality, Flexibility & Compatibility.

It can extract digital 2CH PCM stereo audio signal from the HDMI input and convert it to 2CH analog stereo output through its RCA style L/R analog output AND TOSLINK output at the same time. The SPDIF output supports 5.1CH Dolby Digital 5.1CH / AC3 & DTS 5.1CH audio. The RCA L/R output will not have sound if the incoming audio is multi-channel audio (>2CH).

The HDMI output has identical video and audio signals as the A/V signals coming into its HDMI input. User can extract 2CH audio signal from HDMI input for stereo / headphone application and use SPDIF output for surround receiver 5.1CH audio setup when HDMI source sends DD / DTS 5.1CH.

The L /R stereo output has sound only if the audio format in the HDMI signal is 2CH or mono. This is not a decoder, if audio signal in HDMI is 5.1CH surround or above, the RCA L/R audio output will not have sound.

Support all HDMI sources. We have not experienced a compatibility issue.

Set audio EDID to "5.1CH" for DD5.1CH / DTS5.1CH for TOSLINK. TOSLINK does not support Dolby Digital Plus (used by Roku and Chromecast) and higher formats.

HDMI output supports all formats including more advanced Dolby Digital Plus, PCM5.1CH and beyond.

For 5.1CH PCM or above, set audio EDID to "pass", connect HDMI output to receiver directly.

If no video, do: 1) power up the TV, 2) power up this extractor, 3) Power reset the HDMI source unit.
